
Randall Burt Smith, age 69, of Dallas, TX went home to be with the Lord on January 9, 2025. Randy was born in New Orleans, LA to Betty and Robert “Bob” Smith. The family moved home to Highland Park, TX in 1956, where Randy spent his childhood. Randy was a 1974 graduate of Highland Park High School. He loved playing football and was a team captain for the ’73 Scots. After high school, Randy attended the University of Texas, transferred to Vanderbilt where he played football, and then finished his degree at the University of Mississippi.
After college, Randy worked in the petroleum and banking industries in Australia and South East Asia before beginning a career as a residential real estate Agent, where he received many honors such as “Rookie of the Year” and later on, a coveted “Career Development” award. At the time of his death, hewas employed by Champions School of Real Estate where he found his true calling. Randy was a gifted teacher and writer, and he loved helping others. At Champions, he had the opportunity to combine these God-given gifts. Randy enjoyed his work and the Champions family immensely. He was truly grateful for Rita Santamaria for opening doors into his life and career, he could never have opened without her. Randy authored Lessons to Learn on Your Journey to Greatness and curriculum for Champions School of Real Estate.
Randy is survived by his beautiful “bride” of 17 years, Antonella Betti Smith, who brought great joy to his life. Randy and Toni enjoyed traveling, cooking, and entertaining together. Randy is also survived by his sister, Jennifer Garner (Bruce Huckabee), brother, Scott Smith (Kelly), four nephews, one niece, 14 great-nephews and nieces and one great, great-niece. Randy was preceded in death by his parents, maternal and paternal grandparents, and uncle, Nesom Burt and wife, Beth.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at University Park United Methodist Church in University Park, TX. A reception will follow at the church. If desired, friends may make memorial contributions to the charity of your choice.
